Two sides of Rogers

For a car carrier, Rogers is really two places. On the west side, along I-49, is Pinnacle Hills: office towers, the Promenade shopping district, the Walmart AMP, hotels, and new apartments. On the east side the city runs out toward Beaver Lake, where the roads narrow, climb, and wind through the woods to lake houses and marinas. In between is the original downtown, with its brick streets and rail line.

Each needs a different plan. Telling us which part of Rogers you are in helps us brief the driver before the truck arrives.

Pinnacle Hills and the I-49 side

This is the easy side to reach and the hard side to park in. Apartment garages and parking decks are too low for a carrier, and traffic around the interchange is heavy at lunch and on concert evenings at the Walmart AMP, which runs shows from spring into fall.

Morning handoffs work best. Drivers generally choose a surface lot off Pinnacle Hills Parkway, Pleasant Grove Road, or New Hope Road. If you are new to the area and staying in an extended-stay hotel, delivery to the hotel lot is fine, and the front desk does not need to be involved.

Downtown Rogers and the older neighborhoods

Historic downtown is built around brick streets, diagonal parking, and a working railroad. Long, low car haulers avoid raised rail crossings where a trailer can drag, so drivers tend to load west of downtown on Walnut Street or along 8th Street. The neighborhoods near downtown have mature trees and narrow lanes, and a short drive to a wider road is normal.

Beaver Lake homes and second homes

East of town, Highway 12 leads to Prairie Creek and the lake. The roads down to the water are steep and narrow, some are gravel, and most end without a place to turn around. A full-size carrier will not attempt them. The usual plan is to meet at a lot on Highway 12 or back in Rogers on Hudson Road.

  • If the house is a second home, you do not need to fly in for the truck. A property manager, neighbor, or relative can release or receive the car, provided they have the key and your say-so.
  • If the car has been sitting, check the battery and tire pressure before pickup day, or tell us it may not start so the carrier brings a winch.
  • If you are shipping in October, avoid the weekend of the War Eagle craft fair, when Highway 12 east of Rogers backs up for miles.
  • If you have a boat, that is a separate service. Call the office with the length, beam, height on the trailer, and weight.

Seasonal schedules for part-year residents

Many lake-home owners arrive in late spring and leave before winter. If you ship a car each way, the calendar matters more than anything else. Trucks coming north fill up in April and May, and trucks heading to Florida, Texas, and Arizona fill up from mid-October through November.

Book three weeks ahead for those windows and give a pickup range of several days. If you leave a car in Rogers over the winter instead, put it on a battery tender and add air to the tires before you ask a carrier to collect it in spring.

How carriers get to Rogers

Nearly every truck arrives on I-49, from Kansas City and Joplin to the north or from Fayetteville and I-40 to the south. Walnut Street, New Hope Road, and Pleasant Grove Road are the exits drivers use. Carriers coming from Springfield and I-44 drop down through Bella Vista on the same interstate.

US 62 runs east from Rogers past the north end of the lake to Eureka Springs. It is a scenic two-lane road, and that is exactly why loaded car haulers stay off it. A pickup in Garfield or Gateway is usually arranged back in Rogers.

Motorcycles and Ozark roads

The highways around Beaver Lake and east toward Eureka Springs are well known among riders. If you are sending a motorcycle here ahead of a trip, or bringing one home afterward, call the Rogers office for a quote. Bikes travel upright and strapped, and it helps to know about saddlebags, a trike conversion, or anything else that changes the size.

Rogers car shipping questions

Can the truck come down to my lake house?

Almost never. The roads to the water are too steep and tight for a multi-car carrier. Plan to meet the driver on Highway 12 or in Rogers and drive the last few miles yourself.

I will be away when the car is picked up. What do I need to arrange?

Someone you trust with the key and access to the garage. They meet the driver, walk around the car, and sign the report. Leave them your booking details and our phone number.

Can you deliver to my hotel or apartment in Pinnacle Hills?

Yes. The driver unloads in the surface lot or on the nearest street with room, not inside a parking deck, and calls you when the truck is a short distance away.

Do you ship boats from Beaver Lake?

Boat transport is arranged by phone. We need the overall length, the beam, the height on its trailer, and the weight to match it with the right hauler.

What time of day do pickups happen?

Mostly in daylight. The driver proposes a time the day before, and mornings are the easiest fit for the Pinnacle Hills area.
